One short story, one situation

Easy English Stories are short narrated pieces — one narrator, one situation, one small thing going wrong. A gate changes at the airport. A card is declined. A coffee arrives cold. They are slower and simpler than the conversations, because a story does not interrupt itself, and that makes them the easiest place to start if two speakers still feel like too much.

Each story uses a set of everyday phrases and repeats them naturally, the way a story does, so you meet the same expression two or three times in different sentences. The phrase list and full transcript are on the page under the video.

A story also works as a second pass over a conversation you have already heard: the airport story and the airport conversation teach the same phrases in different shapes, and hearing them twice in two forms is exactly the repetition that makes them stay.
